1980s Adam/Helmstetter Cue Identification
I am looking for any info and an ID for this Adam/Helmstetter pool cue that I recently purchased.
I was told it's from the 1980s. The sharp spliced points in the forearm are amazing, and they appear to be Brazilian Rosewood.
I hit some balls with this cue yesterday, and I am super happy with this purchase.
Any info would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Tim Cummings

That's a nice looking cue, great find.
Unfortunately I could not find anything in my catalogs, but will continue to keep an eye out for it. Let me know if you find anything more in the meanwhile.

Thank you for your efforts. We know that Helmstetter cues can be hard to identify.
I mainly bought this cue for the extra nonmatching shaft that is for the Palmer PB series (they were built by Helmstetter's Adam Cue in the late 1970s thru the 1980s. I recently picked up a Palmer PB8 and this gives me a 2nd shaft for that. My Palmer PB8 cue is off getting some repair/refinish work done and should have it back any day. I'm looking forward to hitting some balls with it.
Thanks again and Best of Luck,

Greetings Billiards Forum, The Palmer PB-8 that I sent out to have the butt plate replaced, cue refinished and a leather wrap installed recently came back. Since the cue is not a "collector cue" but a player I took the liberty to make a few changes. I added a 30" Tiger "X" LD shaft to it and the cue plays fantastic. It is now my daily player replacing my Palmer PB-5 which with a shaft change has become a break cue. We need to keep the old cues in action. Best of Luck, Tim Cummings P.S. A big shout out to Troy Downey at Mueller's for his great work.
