Why is the Blue Masters Chalk so Popular?
I have read the posting: Cue Chalk Hardness - Is Hard or Soft Chalk Better and the comments there pretty much confirm what I have observed about pool cue chalk here in Kazan, Russia - that Master cue chalk is the most popular.
All the billiard halls here ship the chalk from America.
I still don't understand why Master chalk is the best. Can you explain this?
Is chalk found in the USA superior to other sources in the world?

Masters is a good chalk at a VERY GOOD price. I think the price makes it popular. I don't care for it myself. I prefer silver cup, it's about the same price 12 cubes cost about $6. I have seen different chalks cost $37 per cube.
Are these high dollar chalks better? I don't know, because I'm not rich. I'm not paying $37 for one cube. I do have friends that pay $12 a cube and like the superior quality of chalk for that price range.
If you are in Russia I know pool is very different there. Apparently we are pussies here in the US. We have huge pockets, and tiny balls compared to "Russian pool" so my Ukrainian friend had made me aware of a few months ago. LOL. Hope that helped, or at least put a smile on your face!
I believe the blue color to be popular because technically you are supposed to use the same color chalk as the felt on your table. The blue chalk is the same color as the competition tournament blue felt.

It says master right on the side of it. Nuff said.
No, but really, it seems to have the right amount of grip with the least amount of mess. I have tried them all, Predator, Russian Magic, Lava, Blue Diamond, etc. and I also collect chalks like a kid collects baseball cards LOL.
My favorite is Blue Lava. It's the best looking shade of blue compared to the others.
