Best Snooker Chalk
Hey guys, what is the best snooker chalk? I generally just use whatever the pool hall has, but I don't even know what kind that would be. I need all the help I can get, and want to buy the best snooker chalk available.

Although you will probably get some conflicting posts, I'm of the belief that chalk does matter. I've used three or four different brands of chalk throughout my playing, so I'm not really qualified to say which is the best out there. I probably have not switched because I found one that I'm happy with. There is a notable difference between some of the ones I've used.
For example, I have trouble getting a good strike nice and low on the cue ball with blue supapro chalk. On the other hand, I can with green triangle. You really just have to play around with different types until you find one that suits your playing style.
For your reading pleasure though, here is a good thread on the best type of chalk.

I've been using the gold Masters billiard chalk. (And I'm using it currently.) During the dark green triangle chalk craze I bought a selection of different chalk from an online billiard retailer. I liked the gold Masters chalk the best and have stuck to it for two years. The best part about gold Masters is that it doesn't mark your hands, your cue stick, or your cueball! The only problem is that It does show a bit on the cloth!
I've also heard that if you use black chalk on a hard cue tip, the majority of it will come off onto the cue ball and the cloth.
I've also used Blue Masters a while back, and then swithced to the green triangle masters when I heard that the green chalk didn't leave nearly as many scuff marks on the cueball.
Overall though, I don't think type of chalk really matters all that much. Regardless of the quality of the chalk, if you are a good player you'll perform well with any chalk

I've gotta disagree with @Allister on that one. The reality about billiard chalk is that some just does not give you adequate grip. I had once picked up an order of the wrong chalk, (which was not my usual,) and miscued continuously until I returned back to my usual brand. There is no doubt that you can perform different shots and work better with the cue ball when using better chalk.

Master chalk is one of, if not, the best. I know in Europe Longoni chalk is popular so it is very likely used in snooker alot. I think any chalk that is good for pool would be equally good for snooker. I can't see there being any reason to have any different chalk for one or the other.

for me, the best chalk has ever made is not yet in the world market. my father developed it for more than 30 years. It was the best chalk i have used not being bias but because 3 of us in the family are billiard pro just in local here in Philippines where the legends are made.. It is called Tisan Billiard chalk.. try to see my brother using our product in you tube..type this "from Manny Pacquiao's Home town are also Billiards Legends". I am confident to promote this product at this time because I am a Civil engineer now, actually I am going to have my own company based in Malaysia this year. "Tisan International Billiard chalk" we can produce any color but the quality is still on its best. not messy in your hand, not to hard and not to soft... friction tested and still not being pirated coz its not yet in world market. If you are interested to be the pioneering suppliers please contact me at my email, sterlingamie@yahoo.com I am willing to give u a sample coz i'm very desperate to help my father in promoting this product. I know its quality and I am very confident that it will not let u down.
