Competition to Program Software to Shoot Pool

I came across this and thought it might be fun for anyone else out there who is interested in programming a computer to play pool.

It looks like there is a computer pool tournament scheduled for next summer. Apparently anyone enter a software program which has to decide on a shot to execute, given the state of the table.

It says that there isn't an entry fee or anything. Might be an interesting way to think about how we make strategic decisions while playing.
