What Bar Billiards Table is This, What are the Rules of Play?
I bought this for $40 from a thrift shop in Canada. This looks like a bar billiards table, but skittles are fixed. There are only two holes, one red, one white, at either end of table.
I presume you have one red team trying to shoot red balls into white hole, and the whites into the red hole. The first player to sink their balls win? The skittles can slow a player down. If you sink a ball you get another shot... but this is just how we are playing.
Anyone know history or know the actual rules for this type of bar billiards table?
This question relates to the following billiard rules:

I don't recognize this version of the game...
But, are there any markings under the table that might help us identify the manufacturer? If we have that, we can get the rules no problem.

Bumper Pool, not sure who made the table, but some of the nicer bumper pool tables I have seen are made by Fischer, and do have a slate bed.
For rules, look up bumper pool rules on the net they are out there. Something like this:
- Red balls line up on the white side of table and shoot for red pocket and vice versa, the balls with opposite color spot lines up in front of the pocket and must be made first before you can shoot your others.
- Both players shoot the spot ball at the same time to open the game, and closest to the pocket gets to go again like winning a lag, it is that player's shot until he misses (the opening shot is usually a bank to the corresponding pocket and shot in the opposite direction from your opponent and we usually rotate who decides which direction we shoot first).
- Knock your opponents ball through his own pocket and put him in the middle of the table between all the bumpers.
Good banking, carom and defense skills are helpful or will be learned soon lol. Banking off a bumper is tricky at first and can take some precision, it doesn't take much to completely change direction of the rebound (small incremental changes required).
I have a friend with a bumper pool table and play quite often. If you get good, games can go real fast, or if you are playing defense, can last a long time.
Hope that helps, and good luck.
Correction...
I could be wrong about which side to line up to start please check the net for rules and my friend with the bumper pool table is on his way to my house now. I will post again after I check with him.

All good. That is how we have been playing it.
