I don't have any experience with this personally, but a few tips for shooting one-handed pool I hear and see over and over include:
- No one technique is used by everyone. Everyone does it a little differently.
- The main two methods I see used are
- Choking up on the cue with your shooting hand at or as close to the cue's balance point as possible.
- Shooting hand almost at the butt end of the cue (no idea how people can do it this way, but I have see people run tables this way)
- Use the rail or a mechanical bridge for longer shots. No need for the shorter shots
There are a bunch of videos on YouTube and you can study how those folks do it. Easy to find with a simple search.
Good luck.

I do play pool with one hand. It all started when I was getting bored playing pool by myself.
Since I started playing one-handed pool, I've gotten real good. I have to say that I've played some guys where I played with one hand, and they played with two hands, and I ended up beating them.
Here are a few quick tips that have helped me:
- Use the cushion as a rest for the pool cue as much as possible.
- Pocket edges are bit more difficult if you have to do a long shot.
- For instance, if the cue ball is in the middle, let the pool cue rest on your shoulder.
