Hi everyone, I'm new here and would first like to say hi to everyone. I was wondering how long you took billiards seriously before your first tournement?

I am William at freedombilliards dot com and there are different levels of tournaments. You have bar, pool hall, state and national tournaments. The bar scene is a great start to see how you mach up, I was playing bar tournaments about 1 year into pool. Never hesitate to ask the better players why or how they did something, most pool players like helping other players. Pool halls you will find much bigger and better games a lot of one pocket, 9 ball, and bank pool. When you start finishing in the top 3 at the pool hall level your ready to be serious about state and nationals. Remember everyone developes differently and you need to judge yourself. Don't ever stop talking to the better players because someday you will be the one helping someone else.

I played for about 5 consistent months before joining my local APA league and doing weekly tournaments. Been in the APA for about 6 months, and now I'm looking to go into singles tournaments at the halls. I will stay on the APA however cuz it is a great learning experience and fun social time. There is no wrong or right time to join the APA or play tournaments. As the APA states, Anyone can play, Anyone can win. I think that's how it goes anyways lol =D It's never too soon, in my opinion. Knowledge is power, so they say.
