Where does it go?
One minute you are putting everything in the hole, the next you can't hit the side of a barn? It's like someone flipped a switch! I have to be the most inconsistent shooter in the world! I can go 10 innings or 0, then back to 10. I never know who is going to show up at the table? Jekyll or Hyde.
Where does it go?

I'm becoming a "head case". lol Soon they are going to find me in the corner of the pool room, curled up in the fetal position, sucking on my thumb!

It is all in the head. I can run 36 balls and then take a miss and then miss another 3 in a row all while practicing alone without any distractions.

Well if it's all in my head...........at least I know there is something in there! :)

I think the hardest thing in this game is to be able to forget your last shot. It's probably the hardest thing to do in any game. 1 ugly stroke will mess with my head. Then it takes a lot of good strokes to get back in to trusting my stroke again.

There is more to my story than that. I don't trust my eyesight, as I have said in the past, and need to do something about it soon. I also, out of the blue just start trembling like the game is life or death or something! Sometimes I can play through it, sometimes not. It only happens when I am playing a match. I can see the stick shake. Then I will need something to stop it. Usually beer. The more the better. If I drink enough I will forget the last shot and my nerves calm and I play better. This game is making me nuts.

Can you believe that someone can get this screwed up in the head over a stupid GAME? I did! Please feel free to tell me how stupid I am. I deserve it. lol

It is anxiety that you feel when you are playing billiards? Might be worth a simple chat with your family doctor. Could be that simple.

It's an adrenalin rush or something! Sometimes I play better, when I can handle it. Sometimes I shake so bad that I can't handle it. I can't control the shake. My friends laugh at me because they can see me shake. lol They tell me to go drink before they put me in to a match! It's funny , but it's not! lol

You sound frustrated; join the club. My question is how much time are you willing to devote to pool?
As Mitch said it's in your head. Pool is 99% mental.

I play some at least 5 days a week! I agree that it's 99% mental. LOL and so am I.

Playing and practicing are not the same. Do you keep a record of your problem shots and then devote the time required to fix them? I kept a notebook for 4 years. You have the motivation playing that often! Have you taken lessons? That could be the next step but it has to be from the right instructor.

Mike Sigel teaches about 10 minutes from me. I may go to see him after getting new glasses. Hopefully if I can see better, my concentration will start to improve some, and my game may not be so much "hit and miss"? Right now I have a 9' crown. at the house, but practice is just too frustrating. Too many missed shots that shouldn't be missed.
