Weird Pool Table Bounces
So I'm wondering what causes weird table bounces. Everyonce in a while when im at my local pool hall I try relativly simple bank shots and every once in a while instead of the ball bouncing at the proper reflected angle it comes back at me.
The type of "easy" bank shot im refering to is the cure is directly next to the object baal. I then choose a spot directly in the middle of these two on the other side of the table, shoot for that spot, then the cue SHOULD come back on an equal reflection angle, that will crash it directly into the object ball, but what acctually happens is below.
(Note: the bounce labeled "2" is more realalistic to the way it bounces.)
Anyone know what causes this to happen?
Is it anything im doing or is there something wrong with the table (Note: This is an exagereated version of the shot im talking about, but the principal is the same. A shot like this should end up in the other pocket, not coming abck to me.

My guess is that you are, without realizing it, adding a slight degree of english to the cue ball, and you may be hitting the OB slightly off center causing the ball to respond the opposite of your intentions.

You say this happens once in a while. I would go with my previous comment. Your focus may be off and and also your stroke.

The issue is definately side-spin. When you want a true reflective bounce off a rail, you need the ball to be rolling with absolutely no side-spin (english) on the cue.
