Had A 9 Hour Mini-Marathon on Saturday
It was anywhere from 3 to 5 players over the 9 hours as people came and went throughout the night. I think it went well for the most part. It was all 8-ball since thats what these guys play. Their house rules. It was blazing in the garage. 85+ degrees and I was sweating the whole time. 1. I played the first 3 hours totally sober and I was amazed at how much better I am having not had anything to drink. Normally when I play we have a few drinks before we even hit the table but we started so early and the beer/booze hadn't even arrived.2. I held the table for a 3 hour stretch. I took two break and run outs to the eight before choking on the money ball.3. I really started to fatigue around the 7 hour mark. Finger tips hurting, forearms and shoulders a little tight, feet hurting. I'm surprised because I'm no stranger to long sessions. I guess it was a long week partnered by the heat with no breeze.4. No less than 7 times did I pocket 3 or more balls on the break. This is a milestone for me because I'm a horrible breaker. I dropped the J & J about two weeks ago and have been breaking with a McDermott plain jane with a moori tip. Even with the soft tip I did better. The cueball left the table only a few times.5. Knob Creek is some good stuff! Corona light is just too light.
