7 Foot or 8 Foot Pool Table for Pool Table Room

I have a closet in my basement wall, so I am just shy of fitting a 7 or 8 foot pool table and wanted some advice.

I have 17' x 12.5' and the wall tapers towards 1/4 corner of the table end down to 3.5/4' and tapers to 2.75' to the wall. I have 4'/5' at each end and 3.5' on one side.

I put painters tape down on the floor to get an idea of where the pool table would go and where my shooting area would be, but I am not sure how to measure this in more detail than just "floor markings to wall"

Will this room work with either size pool table?

   I think that a 6ft or 7ft table would fit into your room nicely.
