Player Sinks His Own Last Ball and Scratches
In CUTTHROAT, what happens when only two players remain, but one player pockets their own last ball and scratches in the same shot also?
We have the following situation:
- Three players total, one is "out", so two players remain "in" the game
- The shooting player has only one ball left on the table
- The shooter hits his own last ball into the pocket to lose the game, but the cue ball continues to roll, falls in the pocket for a scratch.
Is the game over with a win for the other player who is still "in", or does the third player come back "in" due to the scratch?
This question relates to the following billiard rules:

The player who scratched is said to have "cut their own throat" and is now "out", but I am fairly certain that the third player now comes back in the game due to the scratch.
Others feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
