Opinions on Buying an Older Olhausen Table
I am looking at buying a used Olhausen pool table.
- It’s from the Americana series.
- It’s 24 years old was used up until early this year.
- It was professionally dismantled and put in a storage unit.
- The seller says legs need minor touching up on bottom but great shape.
- Asking price is 650$.
What concerns would you have? Would rails need replaced? Even with new felt and rails Seems like a good start for a minimal investment but I’m not expert. I’m a decent casual player.
I just bought a house with room for a table and I’m very excited about it. This will be my first pool table.

The Olhausen Americana series was a decent consumer-grade line of pool tables. In general, Olhausen pool tables are decent and they are considered a reputable manufacturer.
The asking price doesn't seem too bad to me.
I highly recommend having it professionally setup and leveled, and in my opinion, this would be the perfect time for new cushions and cloth. It will be money well spent.
Good luck and let us know how it goes. Would love to see a few photos once you get it set up.

Just need to verify whether it’s a 7 or 8 foot table. Owner couldn’t tell me for sure. Looking for a 7. May have to go see it to verify. Sounds like a good deal then. New rubbers and cloth and still be right around a grand in it.
