Is This A Good Pool Table?

Is This A Good Pool Table?

im looking into buying a pool table, and found one online. i dont know too much about a quality table so i was wondering if anyone could help me out to see if the deal is good or not.

this the info the seller provided:

Material: MDF, PVC Laminate, High Quality Wool Cloth Zinc Alloy Corner Package:1pcs/carton with all accessories Accessories:1pcs brush,1pcs triange,2pcs cues, 2pcs chalks,1set of billiard balls Table Colth: Green Table Size:96"*52"*32" Adjustable legs easy to install! Easy to use instruction on how to install provided. Note: Sale - this is final sale and final price, only $487 (plus tax)

apparently it is "brand new in the original box" and "originally costs $2000" but they are "willing to sacrfice it for only $487 (plus tax)" and its from some chinese manufacturer or something

also they said they will deliver it with some slight shipping costs

here are some pics of the table

im thinking there has to be some catch, it seems a little too good to be true to me

It's reasonable, based on two factors: It's coming from a "private seller" which means you buy as is, and assume all responsibility for what would normally be covered under warranty/return policy if bought from a retailer. The next factor is supply versus demand. Chinese manufacturers have been importing tables in large quantities for sale in big-box retailers for the a number of years now, and so the supply is rapidly increasing, (and thus, price is rapidly decreasing.) His claim of $2000 may potentially be an "upper end" estimate, when you may really be able to get that, or a comparable table for $1200 from a retailer today.

I'm not bashing mass produced tables, nor am I making any claims about the quality of tables produced abroad. I'm merely pointing out what I've observed in that specific market segment of the over pool/billiard/snooker table market over the past 4 years.

I'd get the actual name brand from the seller, and see if he has the original purchase receipt. Use that info for insight into the sellers integrity, and for facts with which to conduct more research.

Then you might also think about the intended use. If it's a table that the whole family will use (and potentially abuse) and to just have some plain old fun with, then this table may be a good buy, regardless of where it's from.

Hope this helps, and do keep us posted on what you decide.

so i asked about the name brand of the table, and according to him its "Barak"

i've tried to find info on this and have been unsuccessful, so the brand doesn't really help much

also got some more pictures of the table if it helps

ok i'm still confused about the purchase, i don't want the guy to deliver it and see that its not a good quality table once i receive it. i still found nothing on the company "barak"

the table looks good to me though, but i'm confused.

has anyone ever bought a table from kijiji or craigslist before? are they trust-able tables? will the table last? will it be good enough quality that it wont cr'ap out on me?

i just don't want to get scammed or anything
