Is an Old Slate Pool Table Better Than a New MDF One?

Is an old slate pool table better than a new MDF pool table? Is it worth spending the same amount of money on this old slate pool table as I would be paying for a brand new MDF pool table?

    In general, yes, you should always give preference to a pool table with slate vs. a pool table built from MDF.

    But honestly, it would be best if you provided links to both of the pool tables you are considering so that we can provide a better analysis.

    Also, your question implies the newer MDF-made pool table doesn't have slate, but many of them do. If it does not, then there is zero question. You should not buy the pool table if it doesn't have a slate bed.
