Choosing a new 7-Foot Pool Table
My husband and I are trying to choose a pool table.
We play several times a year, and have for 30 yrs, but this will be our first and probably only table as we have retired. We are willing to spend what we need to but live in a rural area and our selection is limited, both new and used.
So, do we turn to the internet and buy a Spencer Marston (have they improved in the last 10 years?) or should we choose one of the 2 brands available locally, Brunswick or Olhausen?
Also a consideration, we will need to stick with a 7ft pool table because of the room size.
Expert thoughts?

I'm no expert, but I have purchased 5 used pool tables and have moved them 6 times.
Unless you're looking to invest in something to pass on to the kids after your retirement, I think you are also good candidates for a pre-owned pool table. I've owned 3 coin-op pool tables, and I quickly built a rain gutter ball-return system for another one. You don't say where you live, but most of the USA cities where the leagues play usually have a small market of bar box pool tables for around $300 plus whatever it costs for re-felting.
Covid-19 might now be closing many bars, too.
I like these because they're usually one-piece slate and sturdy and all you have to do to move them is take off the legs and borrow the right dollies and/or super lifting gadgets and a flat bed trailer and you can avoid assembly hassles. (I moved my last one by removing only the FEET!) And if you don't disconnect the pay-for-play system, you can will THAT money to your kids...
