Predator 5k versus Schon STL
I am in the process of purchasing a new pool cue. I currently shoot with a 15 year old Schon cue. Through my research Predator looks like they make a nice cue and I like the 5K series. I have read quite a few reviews in forums that people do not like Predator cues because they are used to their current. Through reading I know it will take some getting used to but in the long run will help.
Does anyone have an opinion with choosing a Predator 5K versus a Schon STL?
Or buying a Schon and changing the Shaft to a Predator 2nd Generation?

I can't really comment on your specific question, as i've never used that combination of a cue.
I can tell you, however, that you are bang on when saying that switching is just a matter of getting used to the new, different cue. Those negative reviews about predator product could very well have been for any other cue out there, had they made the switch to that brand instead. I think it was more the fact that they were playing on _something_different, rather than the particular make of cue they switched to.

I've had a predator 314 for about 4 years it took me a few months (at least) to get used to. How do you hit the cue ball when using side spin? Do you line everything up and move your whole cue to the right/left (paralell from a center hit) or do you aim and pivot your cue? If you're the last one you may have a harder time adapting.

I have a Schon Stl4 with a Predator 314-2 shaft (29"). It is taking me some time to adjust. But i cannot complain about the feel.
