McDermott Genesis Cue Reviews
I was planning to purchase a McDermott Genesis cue and was wondering if anyone had any insights on this cue or McDermott cues in general?

I have several mcdermott cues. The cue you are refering to is a good cue if you are just starting to play. I personally shoot mcdermott assassin with a 314 predator shaft . You pretty much get what you pay for with mcdermott. I suggest spend a little more money would get you a better cue. I shot the same cue you are talking about for well over a year. I got to the limits of that cue pretty quick.

Thanks for the reply, is there a specific McDermott cue you would recommend?

I've never played Mcdermott, but my uncle, and mentor to many players, has played McD's for over 10 years. Says he will never switch. And I believe him. He started with Mcdermott and will probably be buried with one. Must be something good about them.
As for a specific cue, maybe just get a McD butt and a high performance shaft, predator or OB. Depends on your commitment to the game, skill level, and of course the ol' coin purse. I myself have a Viking ($220) and have no complaints. Remember it's the player that makes a cue good, no two ways about it. A $2,000 cue will get you no where if the operator can't put it to proper use.
Also save some money for a sniper or Kamui tip. The tip is ever important.
