BMC Diamond Cue Info
Info on the BMC Diamond Cue
The BMC Diamond cue is currently the most expensive BMC cue available. It features an extravagant design which some might call "over-the-top ".
It was released initially in 2010,
How Many BMC Diamond Cues Were Made?
The Meucci Cues website says that 100 BMC Diamond Cue units are to be built. As of January 2019, about half of those had been sold and finished.
In reality, there will probably be 110 or more of these cue in the wild when it is all said and done. Meucci is notoriously unorganized with this stuff. The three in the list below would all mean additional cues, unless Meucci skipped serial numbers along the way (which is also totally possible with Meucci).
The Budget Cues site shows one with serial number 000/100
Dennis "The Hatchetman" Hatch apparently has an un-numbered BMC Diamond cue
There are two BMC Diamond Cues with serial 028/100. One owned by Dennis Hatch and one by David Chennells at Side Pocket Billiards (see galleries below). Both shared photos in 2014 when receiving the cues.
There are two BMC Diamond Cues with serial 064/100 (one sold through Donavon Seibert, the other through The Pool Cue Shop).
You've gotta love the actual comment thread in Dennis' post showing off his new Diamond cue, when he and David both discovered they each had a BMC Diamond cue numbered 028/100. This is the conversation from 2014-07-13:
David Chennells - Side Pocket Billiards has # 28 of 100 in stock,Just got it a few months ago, It takes almost 10 months to get that cue once you pay for it.
Dennis Hatch - David Chennells my cue is 28/100 you better check your cue. Plus mine is a 60 inch version, is signed by Bob, and has "The Hatchetman" on it. Also it only took 3 months for me to get mine.
David Chennells - Dennis, I just check and my is 028/100 And you being a pro got yours faster then me being a room owner
Dennis Hatch - Mine is 28/100
It came up again at the end of February 2018:
Mike Dauber - One cue is being sold by a local dealer. The other cue was used at the Mosconi Cup and being sold by Dennis Hatch? If only 100 are made how are they both number 28/100?
Joshua Niegisch - The one hatch has is the real deal, look at the inlays. They don't even match up to the cue Hatch has. The diamonds are much lower. I think they are both 28/100 because that have their slight differences. Both cues pictured are not the same cue
Mike Dauber - I Was thinking the same thing but wasn't sure. I want to buy the one with the black dots but skeptical over the numbers matching. But the diamond cues are all gonna be slightly different is what I was told when calling Meucci.
Joshua Niegisch - Haha. If that's the case, then every one of them he builds could be number 28/100. I think Bob is going bonkers. Let's just hope he doesn't go down the same path Dale Perry did putting 1/1 on everything
David Chennells - The one on the left is your standard production Meucci cue and is still for sale at Side Pocket Billiards in Howell, NJ 732-987-4343 for $2200. Somebody needs to buy BOTH of them and then that person would have the only set of 28/100 I guess? And then have Bob mark them "28 a" and "28 b", or better yet mark them as "28" and "28 Pro".I want to buy the one with the black dots but skeptical over the numbers matching.
Brutal. Meucci Cues has to get this nonsense under control.
BMC Diamond Cue Extensions
There are a bunch matching custom cue extensions for the BMC Diamond cue which helps extend their lengths. The extensions screw into the butt cap of the main cue. They run you around $150 each from Meucci.
Lots of folks have been ordering extensions for these cues as you can see in the galleries below.
006 has 2 extensions (size not known)
028 (Dennis Hatch version) has 3 extensions (4", 6", and 8")
040 was bought with 2 extensions (4" and 6")
042 has one extension (4")
051 has one extension (size not known)
BMC Diamond Cue Customization and Variations
There are a few variations out there which differ from the standard build of a Bob Meucci Diamond cue.
022 of 100 - This BMC Diamond cue was sent back to Meucci to have a stainless steel joint collar installed instead of the standard white composite material.
Additionally to these customizations, there are a other notable inconsistencies:
Some are dated with the date of completion on the forearm under Bob's signature. Most are not dated.
Some serial numbers on the butt sleeves have leading zeros and some do not. For example, one might have 007/100, another would have just 22/100.
