Rules and Glossary for the Met Pool Room

1. Enjoy yourself.
2. Respect the equipment. Most of the stuff in here is older than you so don't mess with it.
3. The covered billiard table is just that, a billiard table. No pockets.
4. The men's room is through the big open door in the back of the room.
5. The women's room is the men's room with the big door pulled shut.
6. Don't place drinks on the tables. The tables are older than your grandmother. You wouldn't put a drink on top of your grandmother's head, would you?
7. If your name isn't Evel Knievel, don't jump the cue ball. Learn to bank.
8. 64' x 55' These are the linear dimensions of the Met Pool Room.
9. Hey! What the hell's going on? Scolding you will receive if you dump the pool balls out of the tray onto the table. (See rule #2)
10. Beer. Nectar of life. The Met keeps more than 50 varieties of the coldest beer in town. Try something new for a change. Perhaps a Sameul Smith or a 40oz.
11. Health food. Not found here. What you will find is pepperoni rolls, Slim Jim's, potato chips, candy and gum.
12. Soft Drinks. American Champagne. We've got it all. Pepsi, Coke, Orange, Root Beer, Sprite, Grape. Dr. Pepper. etc.
13. "The Shine" Unverified, semi-scientific phenomenon whereby a shooter's accuracy is greatly improved by aligning the reflections from the overhead lights, on the pool balls. Look at the cue ball and the object ball and try to make the light reflections on the two meet when shot.
14. Custer's Last Fight... Old Budweiser promotional poster behind the front stage. During Prohibition, the alcohol reference was painted over.
15. "Marble Steps". The steps to the Met are the originals from the 20's. Notice the grooves from years of use.
16. "The Wall of Fame" A collection of pictures of regular customers over the years. If you like, we will add your picture to "The Wall of Fame".
