Definition of Pins
Pins is a billiards term that is a part of Billiard Accessory Terminology.
Pins are also called skittles in some regions. Another usage for the term is that it refers to the flat, plastic, rectangular object that is similar to a large domino piece. These pins are approximately 3 inches wide by 6 inches tall. Pins are placed on the table in an upright manner in the game of Australian pin billiards. Depending on the game being played, pins either serve as obstacles or as targets. Use as obstacles is the more common use for pins.
