Photography specifics - 15 minute exposure, Zero Image pinhole. This image came out severely under exposed and I tried to increase the exposure digitally. Alas, it just made the image grainy, but I liked the grain so I went with it.
Here is an essentially black and white photo of a Brunswick tournament tv-style pool table in a pool hall. The reason I'm showing this is because of the massive rectangular billiard table lights. They are about the same size as the surface area of the pool tables themselves. The good thing about these pool table lights is that they do throw light to all areas of the pool table, and no shadows should be cast that will disrupt play. The drawback is that lights of this nature are typically fluorescent. The consensus among both experts and players is that fluorescent billiard lighting is not optimal.
