Brunswick Centennial "Rounded Darts" Era Question
Hi, I'm just wondering when the Brunswick Centennial "rounded darts" era ended and the new triangular darts replaced them? The cool blue/white boxes were the same from the 70's through the early 90's but I'm curious to know when the rounded darts were discontinued by Brunswick? I'm guessing it was some time in the 80's? Anyone know? Thanks

Could it be 1982?
As far as I can make out, the 1981 Brunswick catalog still shows the rounded-dart-style of balls.
The marketing text in the 1982 Brunswick catalog refers to "Royal Centennial" billiards balls, and calls "The new style of the Centennial..." - Which, from the photos, seems to be that the numbers are in the colored part of the "stripes" (vs the white part of the "stripes" as is shown in the 1981 photo. I don't know if the "dart" style also changed at this point. The photos in the Brunswick archives are low-resolution, but the 1982 Centennial billiard balls seems to have triangle darts, but honestly, it's too low-res to tell.
1989-1990 Brunswick Centennial billiard ball brochure - has new-style triangle-shaped darts.
Unfortunately the Brunswick Billiards archives online are missing a lot of brochures from the 1980s so I hit a dead end after 1982.
I know this doesn't answer your question directly, but hopefully it's helpful in some way.

I have as set of Brunswick Royal Centennial balls from the 1980s, and the darts are rounded.
