Help Settle a Family 8 Ball Disagreement
We were playing a friendly game of family pool tonight and need help solving our disagreement. My husband had one ball left on the table along with the 8-ball. He hit his ball in and then the cue ball ricocheted over and hit in the 8-ball in too. He thinks he won and I say no way. Who is right? Hopefully me, but if not, I'll admit defeat.
Thanks, Holly

The 8 ball is to be shot only when you're on the 8 ball. Meaning all your other balls have already been dropped and it is now time to shoot your cue ball at your 8 ball. There usually cannot be any type of combination at any time in "bar rules" when it comes to the 8 ball. In many leagues..you CAN hit your 8 ball into your opponents ball and still make your 8 ball in the pocket you called prior to your shot.
Anyways..you were right. At no time can he make his 8 ball and another one of his balls in at the same time. If so..he loses the game.

You must call the 8-ball in the pocket to win You must make contact with the 8-ball first to win You can only contact the 8-bal first when all your other balls are off the table
