8 Ball Rule for Ball Bouncing Back Out of Pocket
I have a question. I am potting the object ball, ball comes inside the pocket kicks the opposite wall and jumps out of the table.
Is it foul or is it a pocketed ball?
This question relates to the following billiard rules:

A ball is only pocketed if it stays in the intended/called pocket.
The only exception I can think of is when "no return 'basket-like' pockets" are overfilled - and someone's too lazy to remove the excess load so the top is blocked by already pocketed balls, some places suggest - especially if the ball was obviously in no danger of ricocheting back onto the laying surface - had the pocket been empty, I have seen "tolerance" in such friendly games and local rules.
But that's not what you were referring to, was it?

Actually, Zeke, the rule is written so that if a player is too lazy to remove some balls from the pocket and suffers the OB leaving the table (Ball in hand) or reflecting back onto the table (end of turn); the other player gets to play.
So; the only way a ball counts is when it stays in the pocket. Should the ball leave the table--it is a foul. Shold the ball reflect back onto the table--merely end of turn.

I was referring to "tolerance" in "friendly" games.
The devil is in the details. And in 8-ball, there are frequently as many "house rules" as the ones universally invoked.
Then too, I don't play on tables with basket pockets.
