8 ball combo
Hey everyone new to the forum but not to the game, I had a disput with a few individuals in a not so friendly game when I used the 8 ball as neutral in a combo shot to make one of my balls in the called pocket, I've always been schooled into the fact that the 8 ball is always neutral until its the last ball to fall, did I shoot illegal or is this a fair practice?

8-ball is not neutral. The shooter has the advantage. in these situations unless his opponent has ... always alive. If the cue ball, or the hand holding it ...

Combination Shots - Combination shots are allowed; however, the 8-ball can't be used as a first ball in the combination unless it is the shooter's only remaining legal object ball on the table. Otherwise, should such contact occur on the 8-ball, it is a foul.

Thanks for clarifying 8 ball combination shots, and yes, I agree that the rules need to be discussed before play.
