8 ball billiards racking rules
I am aware how the balls are to arranged in the rack. I would like to whether head ball or the 8 ball should occupy the spot. In our club we have been placing the 8 ball on the spot. please clarify. I am seeking clarification because I saw a video in this forum placing the 1 ball on the spot.
This question relates to the following billiard rules:

8 goes in the center of the 3rd row. I usually rack either a high or a low on the spot. If a high is on the spot, I will put 2 low balls on the next line. Then a highball, the 8 and another high in the middle row. Row 4 starts with a low. Row 5 starts with a high. What happens then is you wind up with 3 high balls on the corners. That is not good, so I will make sure to switch a ball around so there only 2 of the same type on the corners. It's about the best you can do! That's just my way to rack. I'm not sure if it is correct, but no one ever complained.
