Info on the BMC Custom Curly Green Hornet 1 of 1 Pool Cue
This cue was first shared with us when it was posted for sale on a classified site around July 10, 2020. It isn't clear when it was made (but it would have been sometime between the Green Hornet cue's debut in February 2009, and that classified sale date.
The cue is signed by Bob Meucci and has "1 of 1" just below that signature on the forearm.
It differs from the original BMC Green Hornet cue in the following ways:
- Curly maple forearm (instead of the white phenolic resin/plastic on the standard Green Hornet cue model)
- Extra sets of ring-work at the butt cap, joint collar, and shaft collar (whereas none exist on the standard Green Hornet cue model)
- Green paua shell inlay in the points on the forearm (instead of the standard brown-ish paua shell inlay on the standard Green Hornet cue model)
- A small diamond-shaped green paua shell inlay between the points (instead of the larger brown and green diamond-shaped inlay on the standard Green Hornet cue model).
As we know, Meucci released the BMC Curly Hornet cue sometime in early- to mid-2022, and we can see similarities to this cue in that model. It is possible that this 1 of 1 custom Green Hornet pool cue was an early experiment or prototype for the modern "BMC Curly Hornet" production model pool cue. We have not yet been able to verify that.
